The Council for Learning Outside the Classroom is a young, dynamic charity with a national commitment to raising achievement of young people through improved access to hands-on learning outside the classroom. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work at a national strategic level influencing policy and practice. We are looking for a number of highly motivated, self-starting, exceptional individuals to help champion LOtC and develop our partnerships.
Business Support Coordinator (BSC)
£18K full time
Fixed term contract to 31st March 2011, with a view to extension subject to funding
The BSC will be responsible for ensuring that the services the Council provides to its members and wider stakeholders are run efficiently and effectively. Duties will include accounting administration, database management, supporting the team on marketing and PR, website administration, organising conferences, administering the LOtC Quality Badge, contract coordination, and general administration. The BSC will support the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and other staff in the performance of their duties. With a small, externally-focused team, this is a key role and we are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who can demonstrate experience of working confidently to support a team operating remotely.

Quality Badge Development Coordinator (QBDC)
£23K full time
Fixed term contract to 31st March 2011, with a view to extension subject to funding
With a focus on LOtC Quality Badge promotion and development, the QBDC will work closely with the Quality Badge Development Manager to extend the effective implementation of the Quality Badge and further develop all aspects of the programme. This will include delivering training workshops and one-to-one mentoring and support to a range of organisations; administering the website and maintaining accurate records. The post holder needs excellent customer relation skills, and will be required to travel nationally on a regular basis.

Regional LOtC Development Coordinator (RLDC)
£23K full time
Fixed term contract to 31st March 2011, with a view to extension subject to funding
The RLDC will work with partners to set up and develop a series of regional networks, supporting volunteers to run these networks by providing training, one-to-one advice and support, creating a development and work plan, targeting the audience, and ensuring a consistent LOtC message is generated at grass roots level nationally. Building capacity to ensure a sustainable approach to network development is an essential component. The coordinator will ensure that the focus of these support networks is to provide direct support to LOtC users. The post holder will need demonstrable partnership development skills, be comfortable with working on their own initiative and will be required to travel nationally on a regular basis.

Partnership Development Coordinator (PDC)
£23K full time
Fixed term contract to 31st March 2011, with a view to extension subject to funding
The PDC will be responsible for the successful growth and development of 10 existing CLOtC partnership groups promoting learning outside the classroom and the LOtC Quality Badge. With a focus on partnership working, communications, administration of the Sector Partnership Funding Scheme and support work to develop partnership infrastructure and share best practice, the PDC will be working closely with the Project Development Manager to deliver this key area of the Council’s strategic plan.

The Council has a small team and a remote model of working to deliver its national remit. For all posts, self-motivation is key and post holders MUST be comfortable working on their own initiative with minimal direct supervision. All posts can be based either from the Council’s London offices, or from home. The Council is willing to consider secondment opportunities.
