21 Jul 2010 FREE bulbs for schools
We are delighted to announce that 1850 Rotary Clubs in Britain and Ireland have partnered with the International Flower Bulb Centre (IFBC), The Eden Project and ourselves to encourage young people to learn something about growing things! In this case, purple crocuses: see www.focusonthecrocus.org
The significance of purple is that it represents the dye placed on a child's finger to indicate they have been immunised against polio during one of the many National Immunisation Days (NID’s) held in Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Your local Rotary Club will provide the bulbs free of charge to your schoo and help arrange a planting and publicity plan to coincide with a national planting event being held in Trafalgar Square in October.
